Now if you are wondering as to what it is then today is that historical day when the first Christmas Card was made and printed by John Calcott Horsley in 1843 for Sir Henry Cole, who wanted to send Christmas cards to his friends and family members. The historical card had three pictures one showing the typical family traditional Christmas dinner and raising a toast for the absent friend, the second picture showed rich giving charities. The card had the message which said ' Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you!' and in that year 1000 copies of the card was sold, and it even started the trend of sending Christmas Cards. Till today the main or the most common message in Christmas ecards or Christmas cards are the same! Guess nothing much have changed since then. Later with the popularity of celebrating Christmas on 25th December people started sending messengers to their dear ones with a Christmas card which mostly were religious cards. Which means Christmas cards were not signed but were delivered in person. Slowly with the passage of time and advancement of technology Christmas Cards changed its forms and today has got converted into and ecard. During Christmas millions of Christmas ecards are sent across the globe. The average person in Britain sends 50 Christmas cards each year.
