Ramdan also written as Ramazan, Ramzan, Ramadhan, Ramdan, Ramadaan, begins in the ninth month of the Islamic calendar in which Quran was revealed to Prophet Mohammad. Traditionally the entire month people get up early to eat the pre-dawn meal called Suhoor and then say the prayers the fajr and can continue to eat and drink after sunset till the next days activities begin. This festival is a way of elevating yourself to be closer to God and moving away from all worldly pleasures and materialistic things of life.
